COOKIES POLICY

WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies are small files that self-install themselves in the hard disk or in the browser of your computer, tablet, smartphone or similar device, with Internet navigational functions and help, among other functions, to: personalize the services offered by the web’s holder, ease its navigation and use, obtain aggregated information on the visitors of the web, enable the playback and display of multimedia contents in it, allow for interacting elements between the user and the web, enable security tools, etc.

DEFINITIONS USED IN THIS COOKIES POLICY

•    Web usability: it can be defined as the experience a user has when he surfs, uses and interacts with a web site.

•    Aggregated information: non-nominal information, typically numerical and which serves to statistical purposes.

•    Terminal: the equipment (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.) used by the person surfing the Internet

•    Editor: the holder or manager of a website.

•    Third: external body, collaborator, service provider, or related to the editor, that intervenes in the management of some cookies

•    Cookie manager: the editor, manager, holder of the website, or even a third party, in some cases

•    Surfing habits: trends shown by the user when surfing a website, for example, duration of the visit, sections he visits, frequently visited sections, origin of the visit, and destiny of the visit, among others. 

WHAT TYPES OF COOKIES EXIST?

According to the body that manages it:

One’s own cookies: those sent to the user’s terminal from an equipment or domain managed by the editor himself, and from which the service requested by the user is provided.

Third party cookies: those sent to the user’s terminal from an equipment or domain not managed by the editor, but by a third body which processes the data obtained from the cookies.

According to the lapse of time they remain active in the terminal:

Session cookies: a type of cookies designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website.

Persistent cookies: a type of cookies in which the data remain stored in the terminal, and which are accessible and can be treated by the cookies manager during a certain period of time, that can last from a few minutes to several years.

According to the purpose the data obtained from the cookies are treated for:

Technical cookies: those that enable the user to navigate on a website, platform or app, and to use the different options or services available in it, for example, to control traffic and data transmission, identify the session, access to restricted-access areas, remember the different elements that form an order, carry out the process of placing an order, carry out the application for registration or participation in an event, use security tools while surfing the website, store contents for the broadcasting of videos or sounds, or sharing of contents through social media.

Customization Cookies: those that enable the user to access the service with some characteristics of general nature predefined according to a variety of criteria of the user’s terminal, for example: language, type of browser used to access the service, local settings from where he accesses the service, etc.

Analysis cookies: those that enable the cookies manager the tracing and analysis of behavior of the users of the websites they are linked to. The information collected through these cookies is used to measure the activity of these websites, apps or platforms, and to develop users’ navigation profiles in said websites, apps and platforms, in order to make improvements based on the analysis of the usage data of the users.

Advertising cookies: those that enable the management, as efficiently as possible, of the advertising spaces which the manager may have included in the website, app or platform from which he provides the requested service, based on criteria such as the edited contents or the frequency with which the advertising is shown.

Behavioral targeting cookies: those that enable the management, as efficiently as possible, of the advertising spaces which the manager may have included in the website, app or platform from which he provides the requested service. These cookies store information on the users’ behavior derived from a continued observation of their surfing habits, which allows to develop a specific profile to show advertising according to said profile.

 

HOW DO I DISABLE COOKIES?

Blocking or disabling all cookies helps to protect your privacy, but it may limit your surfing experience in some websites, as well as limit some features or prevent the right navigation or use of some of their services.
